PROGRAM SPOTLIGHT: MSI Afterburner’s Recording Feature
by Gaveroid on Mar.05, 2013, under General, PC
I recently discovered MSI Afterburner, but not to overclock! I found it as a recording program!
Surprisingly, the freeware popular overclocking tool also doubles as a program to record gameplay with… who knew?
So, it records some pretty good video. My latest Microsoft Flight montage was recorded with it – but, don’t judge that as the program’s full quality. I just didn’t record it in full 1080p – silly me!
So, if you want to start up a YouTube channel, download MSI Afterburner, and record some gameplay with that, and either Windows Movie Maker or iMovie should do fine. Along with a decent internet connection for uploading, a microphone for commentary (if you want to that’s a good idea), and a decent computer, that’s all you need to start up a decent PC gaming YouTube channel! You will need some games, though. Derp!
MSI Afterburner is a good choice for recording games, as it is a freeware program that does the job well!

NEW RANT: Battlefield 3 for the PC has TERRIBLE CONTROLLER SPRINTING!
by Gaveroid on Mar.05, 2013, under Games, General, PC
I am DISSAPPOINTED IN YOU, EA.
Your PC version of Battlefield 3 has good controller support. All except for the sprinting. Why do you have to hold down the button with a controller on the PC version? On EVERY other version of Battlefield 3 for consoles, just one tap of the sprint button. My fingers start to hurt when I have to hold in the sprint button, as I have to push in on a joystick and hold it in through most of a match rather than tapping it and just not stopping sprinting until I stop walking. Why did you do this, EA? Why?
And, I’ve got another bone to pick! Why is the HUD in Crysis 3 different on the multiplayer? Why isn’t the dual energy bar feature on the single player, when it is a permanent feature of the multiplayer? Maybe I am missing something. Do you get that later in the campaign?
Well, anyway, on that note, I DON’T WANT ORIGIN SCANNING MY COMPUTER AND HAVING THE ABILITY OF READING THROUGH ALL OF MY PERSONAL PRIVATE INFORMATION.
Goodbye. This article was mainly made to bash EA for a couple of reasons. They make good games, but, sheesh….
Adios, amigos!

PNY GeForce GTX 660Ti
I recently purchased a new PNY GeForce GTX 660Ti graphics card for my computer from Amazon.com for around $280 including 2nd day shipping.
It replaced a PNY GeForce GTX 460 that started to experience memory problems. I highly recomend purchasing PNY graphics cards because of their lifetime warranty. To make sure you get the lifetime warranty register your product with PNY, i forgot.
I have yet to give this card a good test but i was able to play Just Cause 2 and Microsoft Flight with maximum graphic settings and obtaining a frame rate between 60 and 80.
From PNY’s website:
The GeForce GTX 660 Ti adds a new dimension to the game-changing NVIDIA® Kepler-powered family of graphics cards by delivering the ideal combination of performance, power efficiency, and affordability. It’s a must-have upgrade for today’s hottest and most demanding games.
